Card Ministry VolunteersWe are looking for two volunteers to help with Cary's card ministry. One volunteer would be in charge of keeping track of and sending get well cards to members who are confined to their homes or who are in the hospital because of illness, tests, or injury, etc. The other volunteer would be in charge of keeping track of and preparing sympathy cards for those who have lost loved ones, and also for members who need congratulation cards for engagements, weddings, and new babies. If anyone is interested in helping out in either (or both) of these areas, please contact me. Supplies will be provided. Thank you. - We are looking for two volunteers to help with ... Angela CloreAngela Clore's surgery was very long, but it went very well. The doctors removed several bone spurs in addition to the scheduled back surgery. Items Need for Ladies DayDear Sisters, Ladies Day is fast approaching! The decorating committee needs your help. There are some items that we need to borrow and some that we need donated: Our Borrow List: (Place you name on bottom of item) Framed Bridal portraits (Brides only in pic) Ring Bearers Pillow White Christmas Tree Lights at least 15 boxes 25 Clear Fluted vases 8 or 9 inch (The church owns some that were taken home with flowers the year Sheila Butt spoke if you have any of those please return them) We would also like to have a metal arch that you would not mind to have painted white. If you have other items that you think may be useful please send a list. RegistrationSisters, What a great job you have done registering for Ladies Day! We have 100+ of our very own registered. Way to go! Sisters, I know many of you are bringing guests - that is the goal! Please register them as soon as possible as we will need to add them on the count for food, programs etc... Thank you for all you do. We are almost at 100% participation for this Ladies Day. Her and her family planned a visit to India for 3 weeks and it is turning out to be 5 because her baby became sick and has been hospitalized twice. prayer requestPlease keep my nephew's wife, Sarah Grounds, in your prayers. Some may remember a request for Sarah about 4 years ago because she was having breathing problems. These problems have continued over the years and next week she will be traveling to Boston General on 2/7/12 (her birthday) for a tracheal resection on 2/9/12. She just had foot surgery (plate & screws) to fix a broken foot from this past August and is still non-weight bearing (doctor's orders) for another two weeks. She has really struggled, but her faith remains strong. Please keep her, Jason and the children in your prayers as they go through this ordeal. His son, Anthony, was admitted to the hospital this evening because of a double ear infection and many days of high fever. Luis, his wife Michelle, and their other son Alex all have the same upper respiratory virus, along with ear infections and bronchitis. Re: Allen MercerAllen is in his last hrs on this earth , according to Corinne's fb post yesterday, They are faithfull Christians. Allen has suffered with a brain tumor for probably the last 2 years or so. They spent Christmas in Vanderbilt, since he was having seizures. Dr's were able to stop those and he has been under Hospice care since. Pray for Allen's comfort. and prayers for Corinne & daughters Sarah & Brooke. YOU ARE INVITED!!! Mark your calendars now!!The youth here at Cary have been working very hard to sharpen their leadership skills and knowledge of the word of God this year. We have the opportunity to see how they have grown for the glory of God this year on several occassions. Please mark your calendars now and plan to come out and support our youth in their efforts on the following dates: Lads Cookout -- This event is for the men and boys of the congregation. The young men will present their speeches, lead you in scripture reading and songs. This will take place at 5:00pm at the building on March 3rd. More details to come. Leaderette Tea-March 17th at 9:00 am at the building. This event is for the ladies and young girls who would like to show their support for our Leaderettes. The girls are prepared to give you a spiritual feast consisting of speeches, song leading, scripture reading, and prayers. Update on Peggy's pneumoniaPeg's chest x-ray this week indicate that her lungs are clearing up and showing significant improvement. Her doctor recommends a new round of x-rays in another month. In the meantime, she is showing a bit more energy, but is reconciled to taking things slowly.This is all encouraging.
